Our enthusiastic design team always look forward to and embrace a new challenge, however we also understand that the simplest approach is often the best. For this reason our design team have been taught to adopt the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) Principle noted by the U.S. Navy in 1960.
Civil Engineering is the oldest engineering discipline after military engineering, and it was defined to distinguish non-military from military engineering. Although the term Civil Engineering covers a broad range of disciplines including structural, geotechnical, and environmental engineering, the modern blanket term Civil is used to describe the design of in and/or below ground services and infrastructure (sub divisions, flood analysis, water supply, storm water drainage, waste water drainage etc.)
Geotechnical investigations are performed by geotechnical engineers, or engineering geologists, to obtain information on the physical properties of the underlying soils beneath a site, in order to design earthworks, and foundations for proposed structures.
